The game had a lot of potential, in my opinion, as I played the Alphas, which seemed promising, but still obviously early in development. Or how climbing a ladder has sort of a 50/50 chance of working, if you don't do it very slowly and carefully. when running over small objects on the ground ever so often the player gets launched into the air at great speeds, which killed me many times. Many of the puzzles themselves are also not designed well, at least for me personally, and are also sometimes kind of unnecessary, since many of the puzzles are not even useful for the player - some are just a waste of time.Īnd then there are all the bugs and inconsistencies in the physics. The games design allows the player to reach parts of the story which you shouldn't be able to reach without certain abilities (like how you can enter the basement in Act 3 without the Double Jump or the ability to push the neighbour), even though you need them.
Yes, one can infer, that in order to open the basement door, that you would need the crowbar and the keycard, but it's not easy figuring out how to get those items. The player is not guided in a helpful way. I've recently bought this game as it was on sale, and I have to say that I didn't enjoy much of it, since I had to look up ways to progess frequently.įundamental mechanics are explained, but thats about it.
